Just over a year ago, I redesigned my blog. It went from a grey, ugly WordPress theme to something much more unique and modern. As part of that redesign, one of the commitments I made was to stop using stock imagery. I also wanted to use more pictures. And better pictures.
It turns out, it’s really hard to take great pictures of yourself. Self-timers and selfies have their limitations. Graham has kindly been my photographer over the last several years, but I feel like I may have exhausted his goodwill a bit. Asking him to take 47 pictures of my feet because I didn’t like the way the shoelace looked in shots 1-46 wasn’t really the marital bonding experience I had hoped for.
So, I decided I needed to call in a professional.
I was very pleased to find Emily from Photographic Blonde who specialises in fitness photography. She takes some amazing pictures and her belief that “everyone deserves to look and feel the best version of themselves” resonated with me.
A few weeks ago, we spent an afternoon together taking a series of photos around some of my favourite running spots in London. It was that excellent weekend where it randomly turned summer for 48 hours in London and we were blessed with sunshine, warm temperatures, and a perfect breeze. A big thanks to Mother Nature for the built-in wind machine. My hair has never looked better.

Running the streets of London
We had such a fun afternoon together. Emily had some really great ideas for photos and made me feel so comfortable, even when I was surreptitiously trying to change my top in public! I’m pretty sure most of the Islington area saw my boobs that day.
We had a great conversation, and the time just flew by. She kindly showed me several of the pics throughout the day so I was totally confident that the results would be amazing.
Over the coming months, I’ll be using these photos on my blog. If you start seeing some great pics and you think, WOW, Graham is really improving his photography skills, you should know that these great pics are from the wonderful Emily.
If you have any need for a photographer in London, either for your own blog, or another project, you should definitely consider Emily. In addition to fitness photography, she also does fashion and portraits. AND, if you use the code MIRANDA at checkout when you purchase one of her packages, she will kindly double the number of retouched images you get from 10 to 20!
To find out more about her photography services, check out her website or Instagram account, and stay tuned for more beautiful images coming soon!
Great photos!
Thank you! Lots more to come 🙂
