Happy (belated) Birthday Thoughts & Pavement

birthday blogI missed my blog’s three year birthday. It was September 24. I’m a bad blog-mom. I have no excuse. I remembered in early September that the birthday was fast approaching and I said to myself, “Self, make a note in your calendar or you’ll forget your blog’s birthday.” I forgot to make a note and I forgot the day.

BUT even though I’m a few days late, it’s still a day worth acknowledging. Three years ago, I started this blog and frankly, I wasn’t sure how committed I would be or if I would even have that much to talk about. I’m proud and happy to see this blog turn another year older with ever increasing stats that make me happy. Despite the fact that this blog is about running, it’s also a nice reflection on my life and what’s happened over the last three years. Life is complex and random but running always stays familiar and it’s nice that it can stay a part of my life no matter where I am or what I’m doing.

This year, Thoughts & Pavement recently celebrated its highest traffic in a single day, and we’re just shy of 50,000 visitors. That’s a lot of eyeballs on this very humble blog and I continue to be proud and honoured to have both new and loyal readers.

As a birthday present to my blog, I’m planning a site upgrade – a whole new look and feel. It’s a work in progress and may take some time, but I’m hopeful it might end up being a Christmas present.

Stay tuned. Keep visiting. Keep commenting. I like writing and I love my readers. Looking forward to another great year of running and writing.

You have a great blog, Miranda! I’m slowly making my way through your posts, as I just started following you this year, and often notice you have done a run I am thinking of doing, so I read the post (most recently I read the post on the Holly Jolly Fun Run, as my sister in law and I just signed up yesterday!). Keep up the posts and happy birthday to your blog!

Thank you Kathy! That is such a lovely comment. Totally made my day. Thank you for reading and enjoy the Holly Jolly run. It was such a cute little race. I still wear my hat and mittens 🙂
