Run with me: 10K training clinic starts next week

running in winterOK, I’ll admit it. Training in this weather sucks. BUT what makes it better? Training with a fun, motivated group!

I’m pleased to announce that I’ll be leading the Liberty Village 10K Running Clinic starting on Tuesday, February 11 at 7pm from the Running Room in Liberty Village. Yup. 10 weeks of great training with fellow Toronto runners, lead by yours truly.

Our goal? The Toronto Yonge Street 10K on Sunday, April 13. Whether it’s your first 10K or your 20th, I promise this clinic will be a fun way to get prepped for an awesome spring time run down the longest street in the world. We’ll run three times a week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday mornings. Tuesday will usually be a steady run of varying distances, Wednesday will be hill training or speed workouts, and Sunday will be our longer runs. Dashing through the snow alone = lonely and tough. Dashing through the snow with a group = a fun adventure!

I know, I know. My powers of persuasion are impressive. So the only thing left to do is register for the clinic! Just head over to The Running Room website here.

Why train with me and The Running Room?

I bet you’re shaking your head right now, aren’t you? Train in the snow? The cold? The awful, freezing Toronto winter? YES! If a spring race is in your 2014 plans, registering for a Running Room training clinic is the perfect way to get motivated and stick to a training plan that will have you 100% prepared for race day. Training with a group – especially a friendly, supportive one like The Running Room – helps keep you committed to a training plan that works. It also helps you become a better runner by forcing you out of your comfort zone. Trust me. I trained for my marathon with the amazing Liberty Village crew and despite all my doubts and worries, I did it. I’m a Running Room success story!

Worried you won’t be able to keep up with the group? Fear not. The Running Room clinic is tailored for runners of all capabilities, and we’ll never leave anyone behind.

If you have questions about the clinic, let me know in the comments or ask me on Twitter. I’m @MirandaMac.

Hope to see you on Feb. 11! Register here!

Good luck with the running clinic. I have fond memories of living at Yonge & Eg, so I’ll be looking forward to reading your 10K race report.
